Cleveland is entering a new era under first-year head coach Todd Monken, the Baltimore Ravens’ former offensive coordinator. Monken’s biggest task thus far is deciding the Browns’ starting QB
Obviously, training camp will provide Monken with some more insight toward making a decision. As far as which QB has the lead now, Watson is the best guess, but the gap isn’t vast
Mary Kay Cabot provided this June 8 update for the Cleveland Plain Dealer and cleveland.com prior to the Browns’ mandatory minicamp
“It appeared for much of the offseason program that Deshaun Watson had the edge over Sanders based on his superior athleticism and experience,” she said
“Sanders seemed to have narrowed the gap the past couple of weeks with his grasp of the playbook and increased efficiency in practice.”
Both players will get their chances to shine soon enough when training camp begins on Friday, July 31
