Meanwhile, all-rounder Will Jacks is currently recovering having had a successful operation to remove his appendix. England stated that they will monitor his progress before taking a call on his availability for the Sri Lanka series.
England will host Sri Lanka for three T20Is followed by as many ODIs starting September 15.
The Test side is currently playing against Pakistan in the first Test of a three-match series, which is part of the ICC World Test Championship
