The right song can change the energy of a workout, a commute, or an everyday routine. Billboard and Planet Fitness have partnered for a new editorial series of custom Movement Mixes celebrating the music that inspires movement while reflecting the sounds and culture of communities across the county. Built on the idea that motivation looks different for everyone, the series explores the relationship between music and movement through a local lens. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, each playlist is inspired by the artists and songs resonating within communities across the country, recognizing that what keeps someone moving in Chicago may be different (or maybe the same?) from what motivates someone in Miami.
The partnership will feature eight curated playlists, each inspired by the sounds and energy of the regions they represent. Using Billboard Charts, editorial expertise and backed by Luminate data, the Movement Mixes transform regional listening trends into culturally relevant soundtracks that meet listeners where they are while reinforcing Planet Fitness’ commitment to creating a welcoming, Judgement Free environment where everyone feels like they belong and they can reach their fitness goals.

The series kicks off with “Midwest Momentum,” (listen HERE), capturing the sounds fueling the heartland, with additional playlists rolling out throughout the year spotlighting the West, South, Mid-Atlantic and beyond. Each mix embraces the unique musical identity of its region, creating a listening experience that feels authentic and locally inspired. As an added bonus, listeners will have the chance to enter two sweepstakes: one offering five winners a pair of tickets to Billboard’s R&B and Hip Hop Live! event, and another offering five winners a pair of tickets to Latin Music Week’s En Vivo concert.
