JAKARTA – Buying coffee before work, paying for parking, lunch, and shopping for daily necessities is now increasingly done without cash

The presence of digital payments through the Indonesian Standard Quick Response Code (QRIS) makes various transactions faster and more practical, as well as being part of people’s lifestyles

If a few years ago digital payments were more used for large-value transactions, now this habit has spread to small expenses that are carried out almost every day

As is the case 99% of transactions at offline merchants are made using QRIS. Meanwhile, around 42% of food and beverage transactions through OVO QRIS are payments with a nominal below Rp25,000. This shows that digital transactions are getting closer to people’s daily needs

According to Asep Haekal, Head of Strategy, Integrated Marketing Communication, Transport, OVO & Bank, this trend shows a change in user behavior in transactions

“QRIS is now not only used for large transactions, but is also getting closer to users’ daily needs, including small value transactions such as buying food, drinks, to paying for parking. Through QRIS OVO, we want to provide a practical, safe, and relevant payment experience with the community‘s increasingly cashless habits,” he said

As the use of digital payments increases, there are some habits that make cashless transactions more relevant in daily life

    1. More practical transactions without cash

One of the advantages of paying using QRIS is a simpler transaction process. Users do not need to prepare cash with the right amount or wait for change. For daily needs such as buying coffee, lunch, or paying for parking, the payment process becomes faster and more efficient

    2. Daily expenses are easier to monitor

Digital transactions also help users review spending patterns. Every payment through QRIS on this platform will be automatically recorded in the transaction history in the application. The record can be used to evaluate spending, ranging from food needs, transportation, entertainment, to daily shopping

    3. Flexible used in various places

The ease of QRIS lies not only in the way of payment, but also in the breadth of use. Now QRIS can be used at various merchants, ranging from restaurants, coffee shops, retail stores, MSMEs, to parking services. This flexibility makes people more accustomed to making transactions without relying on cash

    4. Promo can be used more wisely

In addition to ease of transaction, digital payments also offer various promos and loyalty programs, including OVO Points according to applicable provisions. In order for the benefits to be more optimal, users can take advantage of promos that are in accordance with their needs and pay attention to the applicable terms and periods, so that spending remains more planned

Obesity is a serious multifactorial disease that involves epigenetic mechanisms like DNA methylation. Tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), originally synthesized and approved for cancer therapy, have recently been linked to the regulation of obesity. We evaluated whether LPM4870108, a small-molecule TKI with antitumor efficacy, contributes to obesity
