Healthcare workers hold rally calling for healthcare funding

Irondequoit, N.Y. — Healthcare workers are marking the end of summer with a call to protect local healthcare funding during the upcoming general election
Workers, community organizations and local leaders gathered Saturday at Seabreeze Amusement Park

The group hosted a Get Out the Vote event, helping registered voters and endorsing candidates in support of their concerns
Organizations said over one trillion dollars has been cut from healthcare programsacross the country, with Saturday’s event looking to change that
“We are looking to save Medicare, Medicaid, get funding back, and keep everything in place for our citizens,” said Tina Black, a full-time licensed practical nurse for the Niagara Falls Medical Center
The event also included a backpack and supplies giveaway
