Superbrewed Food has launched Thryt the development of digestive and immune health products across supplements, foods, beverages and pet nutrition

The US company said that the ingredient combined a growing scientific evidence base with formulation flexibility and commercial-scale supply

Thryyricum strain ASM19 and is shelf-stable at room temperature

According to Superbrewed Food, third-party preclinical research has demonstrated selective activation of the pattern-recognition receptors TLR2, TLR5 and NOD2, while animal studies have also provided translational evidence of intestinal and host-response activity

A completed four-week consumer perception study also reportedperceived improvements across multiple measures of digestive comfort, with further human studies ongoing

    Formulation flexibility

As a non-lity to be maintained during manufacturing, distribution or storage

This allows it to be incorporated into a range of formats, including capsules, powders, gummies, bars, foods and beverages

The ingredient is also compatible with shelf-stable and UHT-processed applications, potentially broadening opportunities for formulators beyond traditional probiotic formats

Superbrewed Food said a typical inclusion level is approximately200 mg per serving

The launch is being supported by microbiome industry veteran MichaelBush, who has joined Superbrewed Food as co-Chair of the Board

Bush previously served as President and CEO of Ganeden, where he was involved in the development and commercialisation of branded probiotic ingredients

“As someone who has spent years in the microbiome space, I know exactly what it takes to bring a category-defining ingredient to market — and Thry

I’m thrilled to work alongside this team to bring fermented ingredients to market that meet real, unmet needs across the food, beverage, supplement and animal health industries

Superbrewed Food said it will offer formulation guidance, samples and claims-substantiation support to brands evaluating Thry
