How Elle Chapman Embraces Self-Care While Shooting The Madison In Montana

Rising star Elle Chapman is making the most of her breakout role on “The Madison,” a new project from Taylor Sheridan of “Yellowstone” fame. The young actor had been hoping to work with Sheridan for some time, ever since watching “1883,” one of several “Yellowstone” spinoffs. “Once I started watching Taylor Sheridan, I completely fell in love with his writing. It feels very heartfelt,” she told Women’s Wear Daily in March 2026. In an interview with The Upcoming in the same month, Chapman added, “It was actually a dream of mine to work with him, so this happening is very surreal for me.” [00:20]

Now, while filming many scenes on location in Montana, Chapman has been acclimating to the pace of a major Hollywood production. “I’ve realized how important taking care of myself is for the quality of what I bring to my work,” the starlet explained to New Beauty in April 2026. “When I care for my physical state, my emotional work is stronger, and the performance I deliver reflects that.” So how does Chapman balance her acting schedule with meaningful self-care? With a consistent, low-pressure regimen that prioritizes rest, movement, mental clarity, creativity, and time in the great outdoors.

Elle Chapman, who plays Paige in “The Madison,” is gorgeous in real life. And if you ask her, a lot of this comes down to the importance of self-care, which she’s careful to maintain even while working on a busy set. “A good day for me is getting eight hours of sleep [and] a morning matcha walk,” Chapman said in her April 2026 New Beauty interview. She also likes to start the day in the right frame of mind, which begins with music. “Having time in the morning to listen to music makes all the difference for me, whether it’s before set or on a drive. … It starts my morning beautifully.”

Note that these are small, easily accomplished habits that leave Chapman feeling good without adding items to her to-do list — which can make all the difference when it comes to starting a self-care routine that’ll actually work with your life. But the “A Man Called Otto” actor also pushes herself to include more challenging acts of wellness. “I have become obsessed with hot yoga,” she confessed to New Beauty. “I absolutely hate it when I’m doing it, but it’s a perfect reset. … I always felt incredible afterward!”

Nature and creativity are also key to Elle Chapman’s self-care practice

When it comes to holistic wellness, there are little everyday steps, and then there are restorative mental resets. For Elle Chapman, refreshing time outside is pivotal to her self-care strategy — which was very much helped by “The Madison” filming in the wilds of Montana. “Montana is beautiful. It literally feels like you’re in a TV show every day,” she told Fox News with a laugh in April 2026. As Chapman further detailed to New Beauty, she’d hike and go horseback riding to make the most of the scenery, even recalling one day when her walk stretched on for eight miles. Speaking to The Upcoming, she explained how much these moments shaped her well-being on set. “When you’re in nature and you’re away from distractions, you realize what really matters most to you.” [06:05]

For Chapman, carving out time for creative hobbies is another surefire way to soothe her nervous system. “In overwhelming moments, what grounds me is reconnecting … taking time to draw in my sketchbook or play guitar. I ground myself by doing something that makes me feel safe,” she told New Beauty

Chapman also emphasizes the power of absorbing others’ creative works, like “The Artist’s Way” by Julia Cameron. “It helps me reset and rediscover my ‘inner artist,'” Chapman said. She then mentioned her love for poets like Billy Collins, William Wordsworth, and Mary Oliver, whose collection “Devotions” was voted the best Read with Jenna book club pick of all time. By balancing these thought-provokers with her own self-care habits, Chapman’s goal is simple: “I want to show up as my best self every day.”
