Russell Crowe stunned fans with his transformed look on Tuesday after sharing a photo of himself working out with WWE star Drew McIntyre, and showcasing his muscular arms.
The 62-year-old had a wide smile on his face as he stood beside Drew, dressed in a black tank top to display his athletic figure
Up in the gym
“In the gym with Drew McIntyre. Good lad. Salt of the earth,” Russell began in the Instagram caption. “Just finishing up the shoot on The Last Druid. We have been shooting in Spain since May.”
He went on to explain that it had been two years since his starring role as Hermann Göring in Nuremberg, for which he earned an Academy Award nomination
“The long sweaty days in the beautiful Spanish sunshine have definitely been a great motivator,” the actor continued. “As I always say, it’s one layer of tissue paper at a time. Consistency is your friend.”
Russell’s fans rushed to the comment section to exclaim over his incredible physique, with one writing: “To be this jacked at 62 is INSANE,” while another added: “Respect, Russell.”

The father of two opened up about his weight loss transformation on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast in November 2025, sharing that he had shed a whopping 55 lbs while getting into shape for his newer projects
Russell told the host that he weighed roughly 277 lbs when filming wrapped on Nuremberg, and had reached 222 lbs after receiving care for his injuries and arthritis. “The real benefit[s] I’m getting are from these injections into my shoulders, my knees and also IVs. It’s calmed down my body’s inflammation,” he shared

“It’s calmed down a bunch of stuff, and it’s taken a bunch of pain away, so I can go and work out and not have to suffer for two or three hours afterwards.”
“I’m taking it really slowly,” he added. “That was one of the things I was worried about with Highlander, because jumping into that role with the shoot date coming, I was thinking that I’ve got to do three workouts a day. That’s a bad recipe for me because I can do that for X amount of time, but once I stop, I’m going to stop completely.”

Russell explained that curbing his alcohol consumption had helped him shed the extra weight and reduce his inflammation significantly
“I’m a big proponent for having a drink,” he said. “It’s my cultural heritage and as a working-class man…But as you get older, there are certain things you start to learn about your capacities…I try not to have casual drinks now, having a drink for the sake of it.”
